Code Enforcement
The Code Enforcement Division of the Community Development Department enforces the Pleasanton Municipal Code as it applies to property maintenance, property nuisances and other problems in residential, commercial and industrial zoning districts.
Common issues handled by Code Enforcement include, but are not limited to:
- Garbage and trash
- Overgrown weeds and vegetation on developed properties
- Junk and other debris
- Vehicles parked on lawns or dirt
- Inoperable vehicles when visible from street on private property
- Illegal auto repairs/dismantling
- Buildings in disrepair
- Trailers and campers stored in front yard areas (motorhomes are allowed)
- Unpermitted structures
- Unpermitted construction
- Items placed illegally on public street or sidewalk
- Illegal disruptive businesses or business activities
- Noise Ordinance violations
- Illegal signage
- Zoning Violations
- Health and safety violations
- Property maintenance violations
- Nuisance violations
Common issues NOT handled by Code Enforcement include, but are not limited to:
- Civil matters (such as property line issues)
- CC&R and/or HOA Violations
- On-street parking violations – Contact PPD
- Weed abatement on undeveloped lots – Contact LPFD
