In December 2023, the City enacted a gas-powered leaf blower ban that takes effect June 1, 2024. The State of California enacted a similar ban on the sale of gas leaf blowers starting in the beginning of 2024. The move aligns with the City’s Climate Action Plan that aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, enhance environmental sustainability, and prepare for climate change. In addition to a reduction in emissions, the ban will reduce odor and noise pollution throughout Pleasanton.
