Adam Nelkie

Adam has worked for the City for 14 years and was appointed Assistant Director of Public Works/City Engineer in July 2023, and previously served as the Director of Engineering and Acting City Engineer since 2021. Prior to that, he was the Senior Civil Engineer overseeing the Capital Improvement program. Prior to joining the City of Pleasanton, Adam has spent 11 years in the private sector for industry-leading civil engineering firms working on various projects ranging from freeway and bridge design to wastewater treatment facilities. Adam holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan and is a registered Professional Engineer in Michigan and California, a Qualified SWPPP Developer, and is actively involved in APWA and the South Bay Engineers Club.
