Smoking Restrictions - Condos, Townhomes, Triplexes, and Fourplexes

Smoking Restrictions at Townhomes, Condominiums, and Buildings with Three or More Attached Units

New Smoking Restrictions Starting 7/1/2022

The City of Pleasanton adopted new smoking restrictions which go into effect on July 1, 2022. These new rules apply to owners, tenants, and visitors to townhome and condominium communities.

The City's new rules prohibit smoking in common indoor areas (lobbies, elevators, community rooms), common outdoor areas (swimming pools, playgrounds, parking lots), and private outdoor areas (private balcony, private deck, private patio) at townhomes, condominiums, and buildings with three or more attached residential units.

The City is sending letters to all known HOAs with oversight of residential units covered by the new restrictions. In addition, informational postcards are also being sent directly to residents at addresses covered by the new restrictions, notifying them of these changes.
