In accordance with the County and State Shelter in Place orders, effective Saturday, March 14, the City closed all non-essential City facilities and programs, as well as suspending City government meetings until May 3.
Essential services that will remain available include Paratransit service to medical appointments and grocery stores only; Open Heart Kitchen's senior lunch program brown bag pick-up only; and Spectrum Community Services' Meals on Wheels.

The City's Library and Recreation Department oversees Pleasanton's library, recreation, human services, and civic arts programs, which are designed to provide activities for all ages.
A variety of indoor and outdoor camps, classes, events, and services are offered at the library, sports park, senior center, aquatic center, the Alviso Adobe and several other facilities and parks.
