The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department (LPFD), in partnership with the East Bay Regional Park District Fire Department and several other agencies, will conduct live fire training at Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area on June 10 and 11, with June 12 reserved if needed.
This multi-agency training will:
• Burn approx. 25 acres of grassland
• Occur between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
• Enhance fire suppression tactics and safety
• Improve park health and reduce wildfire risk
What to expect:
• Smoke may be visible across the Tri-Valley
• Some trails may close temporarily for safety
• Shadow Cliffs will remain open to the public (trail closures possible)
This training is an important part of our regional fire preparedness efforts. It’s conducted in coordination with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District and will only proceed under favorable weather and air quality conditions.
