Inclusion Services
The City of Pleasanton’s Recreation Department welcomes and encourages individuals of all abilities to participate in its programs and activities.
Inclusion is the process of providing supports, adaptations and modifications to ensure that individual needs and desires for participation are met in ways that are reasonable, safe and do not fundamentally alter the nature of the program or activity. If you or your child are in need of inclusion services in order to participate in a program or activity, please complete the Accommodation Request Form.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was conceived with the goal of integrating people with disabilities into all aspects of life. The City of Pleasanton has also adopted a policy to “promote facilities and activities that accommodate community and family use and accommodate persons of all physical abilities.” We welcome and look forward to your participation.

Eagle Scout and Gold Award Projects
The City of Pleasanton is happy to continue to support the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America with one of their core activities, allowing troop members to earn their Eagle Scout/Gold Awards. One of the primary purposes of the Eagle Scout/Gold Award service project is to demonstrate and hone or learn and develop leadership skills by identifying a need within the community that the scout can address throughout the project. Related to this is the motivation in learning important lessons in project management, taking the responsibility for a significant accomplishment, and securing adequate funding for the project.
The following information will assist you in getting your project started with the City of Pleasanton. Please complete the Eagle Scout/Gold Award Project Application, which will provide us with necessary information about your proposed project and will help ensure that the project is started in a timely manner.

Project Ideas
The City of Pleasanton receives many requests each year to provide Eagle Scout/Gold Award projects. Please remember, it is the responsibility of the Scout in keeping with the spirit of the project to approach the City with their own idea for the project and then to work closely with the City in implementing the proposal. Proposed projects should be mutually beneficial to the Scout and the City and address an identified need for the community. We invite you to tour the City, looking for areas that need improvement and where you can make a difference.
Project ideas below are samples of previously completed projects and are intended to encourage the Scout to take an opportunity to recognize and identify possibilities. Please keep in mind that the City of Pleasanton will review each request thoroughly and will approve based on the city’s ability to support the Scout and the project.
