Parade Map
Street Closures:
- Main Street Closure: Begins closing at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and will be open to pedestrians following the Tree Lighting Ceremony.
- Santa Rita Road Closures: 2:00 p.m.: Section between Black Avenue and Stanley Boulevard closes.
- Southbound traffic allowed in the eastern-most lane of Santa Rita Road (from Black Avenue to the railroad tracks near Stanley Boulevard).
- This area serves as the parade formation zone.
- Main Street/Santa Rita Road (Black Avenue to Old Bernal Avenue) closed to all cross-traffic for the parade.

Parade Rules
- This event is rain or shine.
- One registration per group.
- All entries must be of a “Holiday Theme.” Lights and music are encouraged.
- All entries must be safe for both passengers and spectators.
- Auto entries are limited to 10 vehicles.
- Entries must not exceed a height of 14 feet.
- All entries involving animals are responsible for removing any excrement from the formation area and parade route.
- The parade will feature an official Santa and Mrs. Claus. No other Santa or Mrs. Claus entries, except inanimate ones, are allowed.
- Items or actions not permitted:
- Distribution of candy, flyers or other items is not permitted.
- Political propaganda is prohibited.
- Advertising is not permitted. Company names may not dominate entries. An example of acceptable wording is: “Happy Holidays from [Your Company Name].”
- The Order of March (position in the parade) will be determined at the discretion of parade officials.
- A confirmation email with check-in details will be sent the week of the event.
- All entries must check in by 4:30 p.m. Late arrivals may not be allowed to participate.
- The parade starts promptly at 5:00 p.m. and will last approximately one hour. The route, down Main Street, is about one mile in length.
- This is a forward-moving parade. Stopping or reversing direction along the parade route is not permitted.
- A designated disband area will be located at the end of the parade route. For entries with children, the entry coordinator should designate a safe area outside of the disband area for child pick-up. An adult must be assigned to chaperone any children.
- All parade rules and instructions from officials must be followed. The City of Pleasanton reserves the right to refuse or remove any entry that does not comply.
