Where Traditional Medicine Meets Modern Clinical Care in Pleasanton

Prosperous Acupuncture has welcomed the Pleasanton community for over three years, promoting a blend of traditional Chinese medicine in a modern package.

Dr. Eric Wei Wang, one of two acupuncture practitioners at the clinic along with Dr. Jessie Wu, says after many years of clinical practice and nine years serving patients at Eastern Medical Center, he and Dr. Wu wanted a welcoming clinic where traditional Chinese medicine could be delivered with warmth, consistency, and individualized attention. “Seeing patients return to the work, activities, and family life they value keeps our team motivated every day.”

Located at 4460 Black Avenue, Ste. C, in Pleasanton, Prosperous Acupuncture offers a soothing atmosphere with a clean, modern office design, soft lighting, and earthy tones.

Dr. Wang notes a key strength of the team is the ability to create personalized treatment plans based on the specific conditions of patients. This tailored approach aims not only to alleviate symptoms but also enhance overall health and well-being.

While acupuncture is in its name, Prosperous Acupuncture provides a wide range of other holistic wellness services, including Tuina, therapeutic massage, cupping, hot stone care, and moxibustion for pain management, stress and sleep support, postpartum recovery, and sports injury rehabilitation.

One service Dr. Wang highlights is moxibustion, a traditional technique that involves burning mugwort, or moxa, at specific points. Prosperous Acupuncture incorporates modern equipment into the treatment process. While common moxibustion procedures rely on the practitioner’s hand-held operation and continuous observation, Prosperous Acupuncture’s clinic staff conducts an initial assessment and sets up a personalized treatment administered by a moxa machine. This translates to a steadier warming sensation, ash and burn prevention, and smoke filtration and odor management to help reduce the strong smell often associated with traditional moxa.

Dr. Wang notes moxibustion can be used as a standalone treatment or as a warming aid alongside acupuncture, Tuina, cupping, or recovery-focused care depending on pain, stress, or postpartum recovery goals.

The clinic also serves the athletic community through sports medicine and teen sports acupuncture programs, offering services focused on injury recovery and athletic wellness.

When asked why the clinic was opened in Pleasanton, he replies, “Pleasanton has been home to the patients and families we have served for years. We chose to remain here because of its strong sense of community, diverse families, and support for local businesses, and we are grateful to contribute a practical wellness resource to the Tri-Valley.”

Dr. Wang encourages community members interested in exploring the benefits of acupuncture and other holistic therapies to choose local care, refer friends and family, and use Gift Pleasanton gift cards at the clinic.
