Fire Station 4 - Repair to Upper Parapet Walls

Description

This work will consist of removing and replacing parapet walls including waterproofing/flashing systems, followed by exterior painting of the entire Fire Station No. 4 building. The work is necessary because the waterproofing flashing as installed on the parapet wall is allowing water intrusion into the building. It shall also include a single window replacement. The Engineer’s cost estimate for the project is $125,000, including a $25,000 allowance. The Fire Station No. 4 building will be available for a non-mandatory site inspection to all prospective bidders on May 11, 2018, and on May 22, 2018, between 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Fire Station No. 4 is located at 1600 Oak Vista Way, Pleasanton, CA 94566. Any Contractor who intends to submit a proposal for this project is encouraged to perform their site inspection on either or both of the days provided above. It is hereby understood that any contractor submitting a bid proposal for this project shall be considered familiar with the existing site conditions regardless of whether they attend a scheduled site inspection.

Annual Street Resurfacing

Description

Scope of Work and Project Location There are two components under this bid. The first component is Annual Street Resurfacing and the second component is the expansion of Cubby’s Dog Park Parking Lot. The first component of work shall generally consist of resurfacing approximately 1,350,000 square feet of existing pavement on various streets within the City of Pleasanton with HMA overlay. Approximately 625,000 square feet existing pavement on various streets shall be rehabilitated by Cold In-Place Recycle process prior to HMA overlay. The work shall also include base repair, pavement cold plane/milling, asphalt leveling, roadway widening, adjust appurtenances to grade, and installation of traffic detector loops, pavement markers, legends, signs and striping as required in the contract documents. The second component of work will consist of constructing a new parking lot (7,000 sq.ft.) adjacent to the existing Cubby’s Dog Park parking lot on south west corner of Bernal Avenue/W. Lagoon Road intersection. Work includes clearing/grading, installation of base material, HMA pavement, concrete curb and valley gutter, irrigation, posts, irrigation, planting, pavement sealing, striping and signage. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, incidentals, transportation and other necessary services to complete the work in accordance with these Project Plans and Special Provisions. The Engineer’s cost estimate for the project is $3,630,000.

Dolores Bengtson Aquatic Center Locker Room Renovation

Description

This work shall consist of, but is not limited to, the renovation of the approximately 2,600 square foot locker rooms by removing and replacing the men and women gang showers with new compartmental showers, lockers, concrete slabs, toilets, urinals, sinks, counters, lights, walls, doors, HVAC unit & ducting, and skylights. It shall also include work related to the installation of exterior deck showers on both the 50-meter pool and the recreation pool, the replacement of the chain link fencing and the chain link gates with an updated exiting mechanism, all within the Dolores Bengtson Aquatic Center on 4455 Black Avenue, Pleasanton, California. The Engineer’s cost estimate for the project is $1,600,000. The Dolores Bengtson Aquatic Center Locker Room facility will be available for site inspection to any prospective bidder on March 29, 2018 and on April 10, 2018, between 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm at 4455 Black Avenue, Pleasanton, CA 94566. The City of Pleasanton (City) is requesting proposals for the following services:
1. Recyclable materials processing services;
and 2. Organic materials (comingled yard clippings, tree trimmings, and food scraps) processing services.  
A summary of key RFP and proposal considerations is below. More information is provided in the RFP.
- Proposers are invited to propose on one or both of the two post-collection processing services listed above but are not required to propose on both of the services.
- Proposers will be required to provide stand-alone pricing for each of the services they propose; and will be invited, at their option, to provide a discounted rate for a combined recyclables and organics services.
- The City expects that the rates proposed by companies for post-collection processing services through this RFP process will be the maximum rates for services, regardless of whether the company is selected to provide the City both processing services.

Anticipated services may include, but are not limited to: environmental site assessments, slide and erosion analysis with repair recommendations, soil foundation investigations, geological hazardous studies, materials testing services and geotechnical engineering consultations. These services will provide support for engineering services for various City capital improvement and private development related projects. The selected firms shall have the ability to respond without delay, particularly in an emergency situation, therefore, considered firms shall have appropriate staff to provide contracted services located at their office or branch in Pleasanton, or in the immediate surrounding area. The selected firms shall have extensive knowledge of geotechnical engineering and materials testing methods.
