2020 Tri-Valley Grant Application Workshops Scheduled on December 11th and 17th

The cities of Livermore and Pleasanton will co-sponsor two application workshops for the following fiscal year 2020-21 grant programs:
 
City of Livermore Housing and Human Services Grants
City of Pleasanton Housing and Human Services Grants
City of Pleasanton Community Grants – Youth / Civic Arts
 
The workshops are designed for non-profit and public organizations that serve Tri-Valley residents.  The grant programs offered by the two cities provide funding for a wide variety of human services, community development, housing, youth, and civic arts projects and programs in the Tri-Valley.  Most of the grants are focused on activities that benefit lower income residents.
 
In the upcoming fiscal year (2020-21), the cities are estimating to collectively provide over $1.4 million to projects and programs including: medical visits and health care access for the uninsured; child abuse prevention services; meals and supportive services for seniors; mental health care; substance abuse counseling; domestic violence and homeless shelters; rental assistance for job training participants; fair housing counseling and tenant-landlord services; housing rehabilitation for low income homeowners; community cultural events; art projects and programs; and many more.
 
City staff will discuss the application processes and distribute application packets at the workshops. Attendance at one of the scheduled workshops is mandatory in order to apply for funding from the City of Livermore and/or the City of Pleasanton.  Both workshops will be identical in format and content, and it is only necessary to attend one workshop.
 
The first workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, December 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Pleasanton City Council Chamber, located at 200 Old Bernal Avenue in Pleasanton. A second workshop will be held on Tuesday, December 17, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Livermore City Library, located at 1188 So. Livermore Ave in Livermore.

DRAFT Regional Analysis of Impediments

to Fair Housing Choice (AI)

As a jurisdiction eligible to receive federal CDBG and HOME funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Pleasanton is required to prepare a Consolidated Plan and an Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (AI).  The city is collaborating with the County of Alameda, the cities of Alameda, Albany, Berkeley, Dublin, Emeryville, Fremont, Hayward, Livermore, Newark, Oakland, Piedmont, San Leandro, and Union City, and the Housing Authorities for the cities of Alameda, Berkeley, Livermore, Oakland, and Alameda County to develop a Regional AI.   The purpose of the Regional AI is to gather data and community feedback, identify specific impediments or barriers to fair housing within Alameda County, and to propose viable solutions or actions to take against the identified impediments.

 

The DRAFT Regional Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice is available for a 30-day public comment period from October 25, 2019 through November 25, 2019.

WHAT IS AC BOOST?

AC Boost is Alameda County's NEW Down Payment Assistance Program. AC Boost provides financial assistance to the middle-income working households to purchase a home in Alameda County. The program offers shared appreciation loans of up to $150,000 to first-time homebuyers who live in, work in, or have been displaced from Alameda County.

AC Boost is funded by Alameda County Measure A1 and administered by nonprofit organization Hello Housing.

Renew AC - Alameda County Home Improvement Loan Assistance Program

WHAT IS RENEW AC?

Renew Alameda County provides low-income homeowners in Alameda County with 1% interest rate loans of $15,000 to $150,000 to complete home improvement projects ranging from correcting health and safety hazards to accessibility upgrades and structural rehabilitation - no monthly payments required. Renew AC is operated by Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley and is funded by Alameda County taxpayers who approved the Measure A1 Housing Bond in November 2016.

  • The City does not own or manage any housing directly. However, the Housing Division can provide contact information and referral to developments in Pleasanton that offer housing at below-market rents or sales prices.
