The Essex Galloway at Hacienda


The Essex Development and the City of Pleasanton announce the availability of thirty eight (38) below market rent apartments located in the Galloway development, 5789 Gibraltar Dr., Pleasanton, CA 94588 (development website: www.gallowaypleasanton.com). The units will be made available for lease from February through September 2017. The 38 Below Market Rent (BMR) apartments will include; (3) Studios, (17) 1-bedroom, (14) 2-bedroom, (4) 3-bedrooms. Of these units Two 1-bedroom units and one 2-bedroom BMR unit will be ADA accessible and available for lease by persons with physical disabilities.   The LOTTERY RESULTS, pre-application forms, eligibility guidelines and other information are available on our Rental Housing page.  The pre-application submission period, closed February 6, 2017.

The “Pre-Application Identifier”  will be emailed to those who are pre-qualified for initial eligibility by The Galloway before the lottery process.  The lottery selection process to determine the order in which applicants are to be invited to submit a full application will be held at 12:00PM, February 23rd, 2017, in the City of Pleasanton Council Chambers, 200 Old Bernal Ave, Pleasanton, CA.   Applicants are NOT required to attend the lottery selection.  All applicants will be notified of their lottery ranking number and the information will be posted on this website when available.

Kottinger Gardens Senior Housing:

About the Housing Division

The City of Pleasanton Housing Division coordinates the development and maintenance of affordable rental and ownership housing in Pleasanton and administers:

  • First Time Homebuyer Assistance Programs
  • The Housing and Human Services Grants Program (HHSG)
  • The City's Inclusionary Housing Ordinance (Residential developer Incentives)
  • The Housing Rehabilitation Program for Existing Homeowners

The Housing Division provides information on:

  • Housing and services for seniors and persons with disabilities
  • Fair housing and tenant-landlord services        
  • Emergency housing resources
  • The City does not own or manage any housing directly. However, the Housing Division can provide contact information and referral to developments in Pleasanton that offer housing at below-market rents or sales prices.
