The City of Pleasanton offers 44 community and neighborhood parks, approximately 24+ miles of trails and over 600 acres of undeveloped open space.
There are two types of parks in Pleasanton:
The Library and Recreation Department oversees programs and events within the parks. For questions or comments about programming call (925) 931-5340.
Park Maintenance is operated through the Operation Services Department. To report maintenance issues use the Mobile Citizen App from your smartphone or call (925) 931-5565.

The Library and Recreation Department facilitates a community garden located at Val Vista Community Park. The garden is comprised of thirty-four (34) full-sized patches, each measuring approximately 225 square feet. As of January 1, 2011, seven (7) new smaller patches of approximately 100 square feet have been added, bringing the total number of patches to 41.
Applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis from Pleasanton residents only. Prospective gardeners will be placed on a waitlist in order of application receipt.
