Downtown Specific Plan

The Downtown Specific Plan (DSP) was last updated and adopted by City Council in August 2019, and guides land use, design, housing, circulation, infrastructure, historic preservation, and economic development policies for downtown Pleasanton. It serves as the primary regulatory guide for preserving and enhancing the downtown area. The DSP update was a collaborative process between the City, its residents, and downtown businesses.

While the DSP is the principal policy document for the downtown, the City has a variety of other policy documents that also guide development. If you are beginning a downtown planning project, please also review the other downtown documents below and coordinate with the City early in your planning process.
