The Aquatic Center will be closed from June 7 through June 11 in order to conduct lifeguard training. All regular programs will resume as scheduled Saturday, June 12.
Lane reservation sessions will be available for participants 12 years and older through the Library and Recreation Department’s registration software starting each Friday at noon. Every Friday, the next week's reservations will be made available. Due to its popularity and to accommodate additional lap swim sessions, ALL lane reservations are 45 minutes in length.
Lane reservation sessions for ages 60+ will now be available on Wednesdays and Fridays in the 25-meter pool from 7:30-8:15 a.m., 8:30-9:15 a.m. and 9:30-10:15 a.m.
Reservations may be made for weekly lane times (one session/day per person) on Fridays at noon for Pleasanton residents and Saturdays at noon for non-residents. Pre-registration is required, and limited spaces will be available. Registration and payment will not be offered on-site.
If you are signed up–or plan to sign up–for Public Lane Reservations or Water Exercise, please read the following details and instructions.
Lap swim is for participants who wish to swim laps for exercise or to water walk (when shallow lane space is available). Recreation Swim is not allowed during the lap swim program.
Swimmers shall arrive dressed in their swimming attire. Locker rooms and showers will be closed in accordance with County requirements. There will be limited restrooms available. Deck changing is prohibited.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the session begins. All persons entering the facility must pass a health screening including a temperature check at time of check-in and must wear a cloth face covering at all times when not in the water. Participants not wearing a face covering will not be permitted to enter the facility.
With the exception of those accompanying swimmers with special needs, spectators will not be allowed inside the facility
Photo ID required for entry and must match the name on the reservation roster.
Reservations are not transferrable.
Refunds will not be issued for missed sessions or no-shows.
There will be a designated space on the pool deck next to each lane for participants to place their belongings. It is recommended to only bring essential items into the pool facility. Leave valuables at home, not in vehicles.
One swimmer per lane. Lanes will be assigned based on the order of registration on the roster. Odd number lanes will start on the locker room side of the deck and even number lanes will start on the park side of the deck to maximize distancing.
When in the facility maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet at all times and observe all posted signage. Be mindful of social distancing with those in adjacent lanes – swimming in the middle of the lane is recommended. When possible, participants should rest at the end of the lane where they entered.
There will be a 15-minute transition period between sessions. Please leave the facility promptly after the session is over through the designated exit gate.
Kickboards and other shared equipment will not be provided. Lap swim equipment may be brought from home.
Swimmers should bring their own water to stay hydrated (glass containers are not allowed) during their workout. Water fountains and filling stations will not be available.
We encourage swimmers to enter / exit in their assigned lane whenever possible. Please ensure proper social distancing when using ladders and be respectful of other swimmers’ workouts.
All regular pool rules apply. Staff may request those not adhering to County orders to leave the premises immediately. Any person asked to leave the facility by City staff will not receive a refund.

Air Quality Closures - Decisions to close due to unsafe air quality will be made using Airnow.gov. We will close if the air quality index reaches a level of 151 or higher.
