PLEASANTON’S ANNUAL HOMETOWN HOLIDAY PARADE

March Down Main Street on Saturday December 5, 2015

On Saturday, December 5, 2015, come home for the holidays with Pleasanton's Hometown Holiday Celebration. The holiday parade will begin at 5:00 p.m., followed by the official tree lighting ceremony at the Museum on Main.

Amador Valley High School’s marching band will lead the parade, followed by dozens of holiday-inspired participants, including the Balloon Platoon, a horse-drawn carriage transporting the Pleasanton Mayor and City Council, scouting groups, Foothill High School’s marching band, hot rod car clubs, dancing troupes, and much more!

At the conclusion of the parade, join the Bay Area’s own Jukebox Heroes on the main stage near the Pleasanton Arch for a festive celebration of live holiday music. Mayor Jerry Thorne will light the tree in front of the Museum on Main Street with a special visit from Santa Claus.

Main Street will close to vehicular traffic beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 5th. Parade viewers will be able to shop and dine in historic Downtown Pleasanton after staking out their viewing area.

There are still volunteer opportunities to help with this festive event, and the deadline for submitting parade entries has been extended to November 30, 2015. The Hometown Holiday parade is open to all individuals, groups and organizations in the community interested in participating. There is no fee to register an entry in the parade, and all entries must be of a theme that is consistent with the winter holidays. Groups can participate on a float, in individual autos, as walking groups, or with animal entries. All float entries must be safe for passengers and spectators and are limited to a height that does not exceed 14 feet. Those interested can register at www.HometownHoliday.com.

A parade cancellation telephone hotline will be implemented and updated each hour after 2:30 p.m. on parade day, December 5th, but only if inclement weather is present. The Hometown Holiday Rain-Out Hotline is (925) 931-5352.
