The free health fair takes place on Saturday, June 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Firehouse Arts Center, located at 4444 Railroad Avenue in Pleasanton.
The health fair is a component of the Tri-Valley Health Initiative which is supported by multiple public and private agencies and health systems in Alameda County. It is free and open to all members of the public, including residents and those living in surrounding communities, particularly underserved populations who do not have direct access to health services.
This free event features family workshops on family communication, nutrition and immigration law, immunizations required for school entry, including Tdap (for students only), physical exams, and dental and vision screenings. Resource tables will also be available along with cultural entertainment.
The Pleasanton Health Fair is a joint project between the City of Pleasanton, the Pleasanton Unified School District (PUSD), and Axis Community Health. The Eastern Alameda County Human Services Needs Assessment in 2011 indicated the need to ensure access to services and to embrace the growing diversity in the region. The Health Fair serves as a gateway to make contact and engage especially the underserved communities to provide health screening, linkage, and health care enrollment to 200 youth and families in the city of Pleasanton.
