Director of Operations and Water Utilities, Kathleen Yurchak

Kathleen was born in Mountain View, California and raised in the Sierra Foothills of Sonora.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from California State University Fresno in Recreation Administration. 

Kathleen returned to the Bay Area to begin her public service career with the City of Sunnyvale and then worked for the City of Milpitas for ten years, where she advanced in her career, until she came to the City of Pleasanton in 2007 as the Community Services Manager. In 2013, Kathleen was promoted to the Assistant Director of Operations, and then in 2015, Kathleen was appointed as Director of Operations and Water Utilities.

As the director of the Operations Services Department, Kathleen is responsible for one of the largest departments in the City, with nearly 100 full-time equivalent employees. The department includes the operational maintenance functions of utilities (water and sewer), streets, sign shop, parks, support services and fleet, environmental services and the customer service center.

Kathleen’s career has been distinguished by her leadership, organizational management, strategic planning, infrastructure planning, budgeting, human resources, internal and external communications and community master planning projects.
