Brian recently served as Interim City Manger from December 2021 to May 2022, providing executive leadership during the recruitment period for a new City Manager.
Brian became the Assistant City Manager in 2015, after serving as the City’s Director of Community Development since 2008. Brian’s career has included approximately 20 years in public sector community development and management functions, as well as municipal consulting for planning, engineering, and environmental firms. Most of his public sector experience has been acquired in Bay Area municipalities.
Brian holds a Masters degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as well as a Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley.
