This is the information page for students entering grades six through nine in the fall, who would like to help run the annual children's Summer Reading Game. Become a "Kid Power Volunteer" and assist others by helping them sign up for games, handing out prizes, and other fun tasks as needed.
FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
What grade must I be going into to qualify for the Kid Power program?
Children entering the 6th through 9th grades in Fall 2019 are eligible to be Kid Power volunteers.
How many hours can I volunteer per day? Per week?
You may volunteer for a maximum of 2 hours per day and 4 hours per week.
What if I’ll be gone for part of the summer?
Volunteer hours are flexible. You sign up for individual hours that you are available.
How many volunteer hours do I need to qualify for the Kid Power Party?
Volunteers must have clocked in for a total of 6 hours or more to be invited to the After-Hours Kid Power Party on Friday, August 9. Invitations will be sent via email.
When are training sessions?

*If you have a smart phone or tablet, you can bring it with you to training. We will be doing a group activity that utilizes this technology.
Tuesday, May 21: 7-8 p.m.
Wednesday, May 22: 4-5 p.m.
Wednesday, June 5: 4-5 p.m. or 7-8 p.m.
Thursday, June 6: 2-3 p.m.
Tuesday, June 25: 7-8 p.m.
Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early for the training session you choose. Latecomers will not be admitted.
What do I need to do before I can volunteer?
Sign up for an account. Choose a username, provide a valid email address, and fill out and submit your application. You will receive an email detailing the next steps: uploading a volunteer waiver and attending a training session.
